Information on how a candidate qualifies for and obtains a Professional Doctorate (PD) via VAE award:
All PD candidates are processed via a process called VAE. VAE stands for “Validation des Acquis de l’Expérience,” which is a French term for the recognition of prior learning and experience.
the VAE process in France through EIU-Paris involves the submission of a portfolio of evidence for evaluation by a VAE committee, which then assesses an individual’s work experience, skills, and competencies. If the candidate is approved, they can receive a diploma or certification from EIU-Paris. It’s important to note that the requirements for VAE may vary depending on the specific program or certification, and interested individuals should contact the Director General for more information.
A Professional Doctorate (PD) as offered by EIU-Paris is a type of doctoral award that typically focuses on practical applications of a particular field. The Professional Doctorate award can indeed be considered an honorary award, as it recognizes the recipient’s advanced knowledge and expertise in their field. In many cases, individuals who hold a Professional Doctorate award are entitled to use the title “Dr.” in front of their name. However, the specific use of the title “Dr.” may vary depending on the country and jurisdiction, and individuals should consult the relevant authorities or professional organizations for specific guidance.
The VAE Professional Doctorate (PD) is conferred on deserving candidates based upon the “Portfolio of Evidences” submitted to EIU’s team of VAE Assessors (validation of prior learning and experience), along with candidate’s social standing in his/her community/province/state/country, gauged and validated through his/her noteworthy contributions, as well as achievements in the form of creation/invention/problem-solving/social engineering efforts.
Typically, a VAE Professional Doctorate candidate’s Portfolio of Evidences may include (not restricted to) the following:
Examples of Materials acceptable for Publication Submission
Note: This is not an exhaustive list.
All VAE Doctorate applications are screened, interviewed, and shortlisted, before final selection process takes place, after which a VIVA VOCE type exercise is carried out to futher validate all evidences submitted by candidates.
